Today's practice, ready in one tap.

Free practice for children aged 4 to 15, set up by a parent or teacher. Pick a school year: Pencilhop sets a short drill that marks itself with ○ and times to the tenth of a second. No sign-up.

Which school year?

From Year 5 the page turns calmer: older children drop tools that look young.

Today's set · Year 22-digit addition

  1. 24 + 13 = 37
  2. 45 + 28 = 73
  3. 29 + 19 = 48
  4. 52 + 36 = 88

Tap a line and answer with the number pad. Right answers get a red tick (or a ○, the way teachers in Japan and Korea mark). Nothing you type leaves this device.

A Sunday report, sent where you already chat

Made on this phone from the practice log kept on it, and shared through WhatsApp, LINE or KakaoTalk. No account needed.

A class set in two clicks

One sheet for every pupil, or A and B versions so neighbours can't copy, each with its own answer key. The sheet number brings back the exact same sheet next year.

How Pencilhop works

You set it up, your child practises. Choose a tool and its settings, then tap Start on this device. The screen fills with one problem or one grid, a number pad and a timer. There is no chat box, no ads and no links out; a corner button exits when held.

Answers are computed, not guessed. Every sum is worked out by the page itself, so the marking is always right, and each answer is marked the moment your child types it.

Paper when you want it. Every tool prints in A4, JIS B5 or Letter. The answer key sits on its own page, and a QR code on the sheet opens the answers on your phone.

Use it with ChatGPT. Ask ChatGPT what your child should practise, then open the matching Pencilhop link. Every setting lives in the page address, so a link always opens the exact same drill.

Questions parents ask

Is Pencilhop really free?

Yes. The practice tools are free with no account and no ads. A paid plan for parents (weekly reports, several children, teacher class sets) may come later; the tools on this page stay free.

What does Pencilhop store, and where?

Personal bests and practice logs stay in this browser on this device. Nothing your child types is sent to us. Use Clear this device at the bottom of any page to remove it all. See the privacy page.

Is there any AI in it?

No. Problems and answers come from plain code with a seed number, so the same link always makes the same sheet and the marking is always right.

Which ages is it for?

Roughly 4 to 15. Pick a school year at the top; from Year 5 the page switches to a calmer look that older children won't find babyish.

Why ○ instead of ✓?

In Japan and Korea a circle means correct and a tick can mean wrong. Each language uses its local mark by default, and you can switch it on any tool.
