A fuller home page: the next Eiken, Kanken and CAP test days with the tools that practise the same skills, a clearer how-it-works, more answers for parents and a new footer. The Plus page now takes pre-registrations, and pages show a little larger on big screens.

Every user-facing change, newest first. Subscribe with the Atom feed.
The Pencilhop pencil icon is now provided in PNG format as well as SVG for browsers and search results.
Pencilhop is now live at pencilhop.com. AI assistants and search engines get a catalogue of every tool in all four languages (/tools.json) and a fuller llms.txt, and the privacy page now explains how robots and test visits are kept out of the anonymous totals.
Six more tools: a level ladder (three clean sheets to move up), a soroban to read, set and add on, hangul blocks to build and hear, column sums checked digit by digit, a map puzzle for Japan's 47 prefectures, Korea's 16 provinces and cities and Taiwan's 22 counties and cities, and finger tracing for hiragana and katakana with the stroke order checked.
Pencilhop now works offline: tools you have opened once keep working without a connection, and you can add Pencilhop to your home screen. Buttons and choices are bigger on phones. Clear this device also deletes the offline copy.
Seven more tools: flash mental math (with a projector mode for classes), clock and money with local coins, make-10 cherry sums, tracing sheets for hiragana, katakana, hangul and zhuyin, a reading-aloud log with a homework timer, a practice calendar and reading card, and a certificate for effort.
Watch from your phone: pair a parent's phone with the practice tablet by QR code and follow each answer, ○ mark and the timer live, end-to-end encrypted. Send a stamp to cheer; it appears between problems. The Plus waitlist is open.
Pencilhop opens with seven practice tools: the 100-cell grid, times-table sprint, worksheet maker (with QR answer keys on every print), word cards with sound and spaced review, dictation with parent-voice recordings, and typing practice for English, 한글, romaji and 注音. Plus a weekly report to send to family, a result QR for parents, and exam fact pages.
