Maths worksheet maker with worked answers
For parents and teachers of children in Years 1 to 6. Choose the kind of sum and how many digits; Pencilhop lays the sheet out in columns on squares, with the worked answers on their own page. Free, no sign-up, and the sheet number brings back the same sheet any time.
Working with ChatGPT?
Ask ChatGPT which kind of sums your child needs (for example "Year 3 subtraction with borrowing"), then set the same options here. Pencilhop computes every answer, so the key is always right, and the link keeps the exact sheet.
How to use it with your child
- Choose the kind of sum: +, −, ×, ÷ or fractions, then the number of digits in each number.
- For addition and subtraction, choose whether the sums should carry (or borrow). For division, choose whether to include remainders.
- Pick Vertical for the column layout on squares that schools teach (筆算 / 세로셈), or In rows for quick mental sums.
- Choose A4, B5 (JIS) or Letter and tap Print sheet. The answer key prints on its own page with the working: carried digits, partial products and each step of long division.
- For a class, tick Print A and B to get two different sheets with their keys, so neighbours can't copy. The sheet number in the link brings back the exact same sheet next week or next year.
- Your child can also do the same sums on screen with Start on this device, marked as they go.
Which school years it suits
Addition and subtraction with carrying suit Years 1–3; multiplication in columns Years 3–4; long division Years 3–5; fractions with different denominators Years 5–6 (P5–P6, 小5–6, 초5–6).
What the worked answers show
Column sums show the carried 1s or the borrowed digits above each column. Multiplication by a two-digit number shows each partial product before the total. Long division shows each product and remainder, with the next digit brought down. Fractions show the common denominator and the simplified answer.
Every answer is computed by the page, never generated by AI, so the key is always right.

Questions parents ask
What does the sheet number do?
It picks the numbers. The same settings and the same sheet number always make the same sheet, so you can reprint it, share the link, or open its answers from the QR code.
Why must fraction answers be simplified?
Schools in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Singapore expect the answer in lowest terms, so on screen 4/8 is marked as needing a fix and the right answer 1/2 is shown.
How does my child type a remainder on screen?
Type the quotient, tap R, then type the remainder. It shows as "47 R 3".
Is the B5 size the school one?
Yes. Pencilhop prints JIS B5 (182 × 257 mm), the size of Japanese school notebooks and handouts, not the slightly larger ISO B5.
